Robin Hill

In 1990 Robin Hill initiated and headed the "Health Care Division" at the Vancouver office of one of the largest National real estate companies in Canada.

With the realization that buyers and sellers were extremely concerned about confidentiality, the notion of a seniors'-specialized, boutique real estate company was formed to ensure that clients concerns of high sensitivity led to the formation of Carewest Properties Ltd. With complimentary services being added, the concept of a company that could contribute to fitting all of the "pieces of the puzzle" together became a reality. One of only two companies in the Country specializing primarily in the brokerage of seniors' care and independent living facilities, we also have affiliations in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Robin has benefited from, and contributed to an active "seniors" real estate market, producing sales of over 100 properties, residences and land acquisitions. His involvement in real estate began in the early 1980's - culminating with his Broker/Agent designation in the mid 90's, via the University of British Columbia.  Robin's boast: "We probably have the largest data base of buyers and sellers for this asset class in the Country"!

 


Michael Baragon*

Michael began his commercial real estate career 25 years ago after completing the British Columbia Institute of Technology's Real Estate program and starting out with a large national commercial real estate company. He has specialized in land sales, businesses and investment real estate. Michael recently completed the internationally recognized CCIM (http://www.ccim.com/) program, giving him updated skills in financial, market and investment analysis.

Since joining Carewest in 2000 he has developed a thorough understanding of the seniors housing industry and has cultivated many key contacts. He has also gained experience in the non-profit sector by working with several societies to create their own real estate development and divesting strategies.

Charmaine Ethier

Charmaine Ethier is a high-achiever specializing in Vancouver residential properties. This includes prestigious Shaughnessy estates to West Point Grey view and waterfront homes. Unique properties such as single family character homes, beachside penthouses and townhomes are part of Charmaine's diverse residential market. Years of experience in relocations abroad contribute to Charmaine's successful edge as a leader in luxury real estate.


Born in Ontario, Charmaine grew up in a family that was actively involved in residential and commercial real estate development in Northern Ontario. During College in Toronto, she worked in residential real estate and continued to do so for many years before relocating to Vancouver in 1982.
Since living in Vancouver, Charmaine has established herself on the West Side with Carewest Properties Ltd.  Charmaine is an active member in the community and participates in fund raising and supporting various charities. Her latest endeavour is a cook book, "Food for Burnt Souls," which benefits a non-profit organization devoted to raising money for the less fortunate.

Alfred ‘ALFIE’ Macalino SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist)

Alfie was born and raised in Singapore. He brings to Carewest over 20 years of Corporate Marketing & Negotiation skills complementing his in-depth knowledge of both the Residential and Commercial Real Estate markets. An entrepreneur by heart, Alfie has spent the last couple of years working on his own Value-Added projects and finds Great Satisfaction in adding value for his clients too.

The SRES designation plus his continued research and passion in the Industry, allow him the ability to consult with Seniors/Retirees considering downsizing but most importantly, providing them guidance in planning next steps leading to their best options.

Achieving genuine Client Satisfaction is his principal focus. From Land/Property acquisitions, Real Estate Sales or Business growth strategies, Alfie has achieved very positive results in both Commercial & Residential Real Estate, and his connections with the Asian Market together with excellent local connections, make him a great team member.
